You should reach the wetlands, follow the road west until you hit mithril harbor? I don't remember the name. Take a boat from there. I'm pretty sure that will take you to Aberdeen or Theramore. There is a flight path or a boat ride from Aberdeen to the island where Darnassus is located. That's my best guess.

Otherwise, just swim a few more minutes(about 10) south and get out of the water at the beach and head north to Stormwind. Take the road WEST out of Ironforge, heading towards the gnomes. Just before you get to the gnomes, there’s a huge dead log on the road. At that point there is a path North up to the top of the mountains. Go up. Keep heading north until you switch zones into Wetlands, then fall and die. It’s tricky to get far enough north so you die in Wetlands.
